Bieberiffic
- OMGOMGOMG "Never Say Never" was released on DVD today!!!!! And because there's always more money to be made, the Bieb-machine set up a website (NSNweekend.com) which, when linked to your Facebook page, gives you access to JB t-shirt stencils, Twitter skin, printables, recipes, and more. (JSYK)
- At a press conference in Indonesia, Justin Bieber kissed Selena Gomez. Well that explains ONE of the Twitter outages this week... (JSYK)
- A 14-year-old girl who lost her father in the 9/11 attacks wrote to President Obama not asking to meet the president, but asking if he could arrange for her to meet Justin Bieber. Obama invited her to the ceremony at Ground Zero, and when he met her there he promised to try to help reach the Bieb. Bieber read about this story and tweeted that Obama will keep his promise, although JB didn't actually reach out to the girl. Smart money is, if Obama can track down Bin Laden, he can probably track down His Biebness. (Cambio)
TV
- Ashton is the new Charlie. Hopefully just on TV. Kutcher will replace Sheen on "Two and a Half Men" in a plot device that Chuck Lorre describes as "hilarious." We shall see, Lorre. We shall see. (Cambio)
- During a radio interview with Europe 1, "CSI" actress Marg Helgenberger said that during his recent guest appearances on the show, Justin Bieber was "kind of a brat." Ha! Apparently he locked a producer in a closet, and destroyed a cake that was on the cast's table. Granted, he was sort of part of the cast that day, but clearly they were having none of his shenanigans. (CNN)
- Following the season wrap of Glee, Diana Agron chopped her hair. This is not news. (JSYK)
- ION will broadcast the Young Hollywood Awards on May 26. Giuliana Rancic will present awards to Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfed, Aimee Teegarden and more. (JJJ)
- Once her show wraps this year, Oprah is headed to Broadway! She has met with producers and they are figuring out which play to do, but it "is really going to happen." (Cambio)
- Betraying every definition of the word "reality," Bristol Palin will co-star in a new reality series on BIO Channel with Chris & Kyle Massey. The three, plus Bristol's son Tripp, will all move into a house together and Bristol will work at a small charity. (Cambio)
Movies
- Zac Efron has joined the cast of "The Paperboy," based on the 1995 novel by Pete Dexter. Matthew McConaughey, Tobey Maguire, and Sofia Vergara are already on board. (Cambio)
- Will Smith's ginormous trailer at the set of Men In Black III caused so many complaints that Mayor Bloomberg demanded that the 2-story mobile McMansion be moved to a private parking lot. Will had been quoted as saying the ire of the locals was "hilarious," which I'm sure the Manhattanites appreciated. (Cambio)
Music
- And in another sign that humanity is doomed, Lady Gaga will be releasing songs from her upcoming album on FarmVille. Yes, FarmVille. The game makers have created a farm called GagaVille, and players will be able to unlock one Gaga track per day from May 17 to 19 by completing tasks. No word yet whether those tasks will involve begging you to buy them cows on Facebook, although that scenario seems likely. (AP)
- YouTube has started its own music chart tracking the popularity of music videos, andJennifer Lopez is their first #1, with her song "On the Floor." (Cambio)
- And Katy Perry just set a record of her own, becoming the first artist ever to stay in the Billboard Hot 100's Top 10 for an entire year. Well done there! (Cambio)
- Selena Gomez announced the name of her next single via Twitter: "I Love You Like a Love Song Baby." There is rampant speculation that she's talking to/about Bieber. (JSYK)
- And Britney Spears' next single will be "I Wanna Go," but unlike Newt Gingrich, she did not announce it through Twitter. (Cambio)
- Rihanna released the video for her song "California King Bed" this week. (Cambio)
- Taylor Swift has released the video for her song "Mean" which is all about ultimately triumphing over bullies. I really only wish she'd actually used Kanye's name. (JSYK)
All Broken Up
- Lady Gaga split up with her boyfriend, and blames her hectic work schedule for her "miserably pathetic" love life. Because it couldn't have been the meat dress. (Cambio)
- Adele's ex-boyfriend wants a cut of the royalties from the album 21 because their breakup inspired a few tracks. Someone please tell him muses don't get paid. (Cambio)
- Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Schriver split up this week, reenergizing the market for quotes from '80s Arnold movies. (Cambio)
Doing Good
- Seventeen magazine and ABC Family are launching the Delete Digital Drama initiative this summer to raise awareness for the problem of cyberbullying. They're even running a new made-for-tv movie on ABCF called "Cyberbully" starring Emily Osment, Kelly Rowan, and Kay Panabaker. (Cambio)
- After seeing cell phone footage of the tornadoes last month, Taylor Swift decided to open her rehearsals to the public, donating ticket money raised to tornado relief. (Cambio)
- CMT also got in on the tornado relief action. Last night they did a live, 90-minute concert special to raise money and awareness. Lots of big names from the world of country music performed. It was probably awesome. (Cambio)
Awesome
- Remember the jet-pack guy from last fall? Yves Rossy? He just flew across the Grand Canyon! Check it out. (TweenTribune)
